Independence, not fitness
The goal for most older adults is not athletic. It is getting out of a chair unaided, managing the step at the door, walking to the gate, using the bathroom safely, and not being frightened at home.
Those are trainable, and they respond to properly prescribed exercise at any age.
Falls prevention
A fall is rarely just a fall. It fractures hips, triggers hospital admissions, and frightens people into moving less, which weakens them and makes the next fall more likely.
We assess balance and strength properly, walk through the house looking at thresholds, lighting, floor surfaces and bathroom safety, and target the specific weakness rather than telling someone vaguely to be careful.
Family at a distance
A recurring Nakuru pattern: adult children working in Nairobi or abroad, an ageing parent living here, and a growing worry that nobody local is looking properly.
A single thorough home assessment answers a great deal: what the real risks are, what needs changing in the house, what is treatable, and what the family should watch for. Even where regular treatment is not practical, that visit is usually worth far more than its cost.

Common questions
Is exercise safe at his age?
Strength and balance training is well evidenced and safe for older adults when properly prescribed, including into the eighties and nineties. The risk of doing nothing is higher, muscle loss accelerates and takes independence with it.
She has already fallen once. How urgent is this?
Urgent. One fall sharply raises the risk of another, and the confidence lost afterwards makes people move less, which weakens them further. That cycle is very treatable when caught early.
Can you assess the house?
Yes, on the first visit. Uneven ground, a high step at the door, poor lighting, a bathroom with nothing to hold. Small changes here prevent serious injuries.
I live in Nairobi and my parent is in Nakuru. Can you keep me updated?
Yes, and this is a very common arrangement. We are used to reporting progress and concerns to family who are not local.
