What Does Physiotherapy Cost in Nakuru?

The session rate is what people compare. Sessions × rate (plus the travel you were not counting) is what you actually pay.

What drives the price

Location and overheads, whether the therapist travels to you, and session length. A 60-minute initial assessment costs more than a 30-minute follow-up because it takes longer and involves more.

None of that is unreasonable, and none of it is what most people get wrong.

The number that actually matters

Not the session rate, the total. Sessions × rate, plus travel.

A straightforward mechanical problem might need four to six sessions. A post-surgical knee needs a programme running months. So a practitioner charging less per visit but booking you twenty appointments is not the cheaper option.

Two questions worth asking anyone before committing:

  1. How many sessions do you expect this will take? A useful answer is a range, with an explanation of what would change it.
  2. How will we know if it is not working? There should be an answer. Ours is that if four sessions have not moved the problem, something else is going on and you need a referral, not a fifth appointment.

The Nairobi calculation nobody does

Plenty of Nakuru patients assume proper physiotherapy means going to Nairobi. Run the numbers before you accept that.

A course of rehabilitation is eight to twelve contacts over two or three months. Add fuel or fare, add most of a day each time, add the sessions you will miss because a two-hour drive is easy to postpone.

What usually happens is three visits, then it lapses, then the problem is written off as untreatable. That is not a cheaper outcome: it is the same money for a fraction of the result.

There are genuine reasons to travel: a complex surgical opinion, specialist neurological equipment, a second opinion you do not trust locally. Routine rehabilitation is not one of them.

Common questions

Is Nairobi physiotherapy better?

For a complex surgical opinion, sometimes. For physiotherapy itself, usually not: it is hands-on work that depends on frequency. Eight sessions locally beats three excellent ones you had to drive two hours for.

Do you sell packages?

No. You pay per session. How many sessions you need is a clinical judgement made as we go, not a decision taken at the point of sale.

Will insurance cover it?

Some policies do, often with a session cap and sometimes requiring a referral. Check with your insurer first and ask what documentation they need. We provide itemised receipts.
